The beginning

The beginning of what, you say? Certainly not the beginning of the decline, that's for sure. That boat sailed a while ago already. Neither is it the beginning of better times. We will most likely need to keep waiting for those for a while.

It is the beginning of this website!

With still a little more than two weeks to go until the launch of my first book, and the ideas for my second book still brewing, it is now the correct time to start broadcasting my thoughts in between these two milestones.

The aim of this website is to share my thoughts of the rather depressing situation the western world has reached and is going through. It is unbelievable, really. Some of the biggest themes in The Decline of The Western Society are financial, political, or about polarization, extremism, and cultural degradation. The downwards trend is so total it is hard to name the single biggest cause or the single worst effect in all of this. The economic disaster measured in the numbers such as inflation, real GDP and employment? Or the fact that men and women are fighting each other? Or that those who don't consider themselves either men or women are fighting the rest of the world? Or maybe that these are all topics too sensitive to be talked about in the public?

All in all, if you too have been thinking that most of the world has gone insane, but find it is hard to discuss these topics openly, you have come to the right place.

Please keep in mind that while the topics discussed here are extremely depressing, the idea of this website is not to sulk. After all, just as the title of my upcoming book suggests, we are here to survive and to succeed. No one has done either one of those things by sinking into depression because of hard times. Depression as a prolonged state is the result of either mental illness or weakness. Instead, remember that despite the difficult conditions there is always a chance for success. To achieve success, some hard work will be required, though. That is the second aim of this website.

Finally, besides the gloomy topic of decline, as a spicing I will occasionally be writing about the process of... well, writing. A surprising amount of work that goes into writing and publishing a book goes into anything else but the actual writing. Hence, for your entertainment, I will from time to time describe the hardships that come with living in the times of societal decline, as well as writing about it.
